Day One - Saturday, July 27, 2024


Thank you to our Saturday prayer partners for this trip: Tom, Sharron, Melodee, Gary, Adele, Dave, Sandy, Marge, Sandy, Amy, Brenda, Karen, Jim.


Today we travel to La Paz, Honduras, from Detroit and Indianapolis.

We met early (did I say early?) Saturday morning in the church parking lot.

Ask Tom where he lost his phone before we even left DTW. He got to know the gate agents quite well and was relieved when Patrick stood to exit the plane in Miami.

We got to experience Jesus in an odd way when we showed up at the hotel where our reservation had been made two months ago. There was now no room in the inn for our team of 12. Bit our hosts were helpful, gracious and efficient. Slowly but surely we made our way to this hotel.


After getting settled in, our host led us to a local restaurant called Chef, where Rhonda (from West Lafayette, IN) shared her travel stories with the Michigan Eleven.

Our meal was El Plato Paceño, which had chicken, beef or pork with fried beans, amarillos (sweet fried bananas) and corn tortillas with bottled water. Lots of bottled water!

We are Team 2413 . . .  preparing to leave Michigan (& Indiana) for La Paz, Honduras, on an Eyeglass Missions Trip We will use a very simple testing system created specifically for MOST Ministries so that our team of 12 can distribute eyeglasses to those in need.  During our daily clinics, we will test vision and fit & distribute eyeglasses while sharing the Gospel message of Jesus Christ through our words and actions. Day Two - Sunday, July 28, 2024

Thank you to our Sunday prayer partners: Mary, Mike, Kim, Kip, Melodee, Gary, Adele, Sandy, Marge, Sandy, Amy, Brenda, Candi, Karin. After breakfast we got our first 12-member group photo on the stairs of the hotel. This is where we will eat our breakfast meals and have morning devotions. Nancy’s morning devotional was titled “The danger of love without truth and truth without love” and she led us in singing “They will know we are Christian by our love” and “The Heart of Worship.” She reminded us that truth and love are important, together. We need to love each other and tell the truth in love to each other on the team and in our words and deeds today as we worship with Pastor Junior’s church at 3pm and then we hold an eyeglass clinic with his congregation. Alysia gave us one last refresher in our clinic duties behind the hotel’s little makeshift bar on the second floor, where our 3 double rooms and 2 triple rooms are located.
